WORDS- YOUR POWER

        What we speak is very well connected to what we think and what we do. Our mouth, mind & body are very well connected. By changing the words we use we can very well change our act and/or our thoughts. The same is true for our thoughts and actions. Words are the programs we use to run our mind and body. Hence it is very important to use the correct and positive words and equally important to avoid negative words. This posting aims to throw some light on the power of words and lets you know how you can change/improve your life situation by using correct words.
            The human brain, that incredibly powerful personal computer control center that each of us has, is    capable of doing for you anything reasonable that you'd like it to do. But you have to know how to treat it. If you treat it just right, and carefully give it the right directions, it will do the right thing-it will work for you in the right way. But if you give your mental computer the wrong directions it will act on those wrong directions; it will continue to respond to the negative programming that you and the rest of the world have been giving it without even being aware of it.
          We communicate through:
               - body language
               - tonality/attitude
               - words.
        Words used, shapes the way you think, you act. Words are the dresses of your thoughts.
        The body posture, the way you think, the way you act are all connected to the way you ‘say’ the words you use. It is not what you say but how you say forms the impression.
How people evaluate you & vice-versa:
            •Non-verbal, actions, body language, postures, gestures(before you open your mouth.)
            •Once you open your mouth:
                    - Tonality: it reveals your attitude.
                    - Specific word choice.
            •We all size(evaluate) each other up. It is human nature.
Every phrase you use ....
   •Shapes your image.
           •Guides co-operation.
           •Programs your brain.
          Language of success: use these words as frequently as possible.
           •Positively: positively I am going to improve my financial situation.
           •Absolutely: I am absolutely confident about my preparation for exams.
           •Guaranteed: I am guaranteed to improve my relationship.
           •Certainly: Certainly I am the best.
           •Obviously: Obviously I have  great sense of humour.
           •Definitely: Definitely I can reach my goal.
           Words to avoid:
         •But- negates any words that are stated before it. For example if you say, " you communicate       well, but your tonality needs to improve". Instead you can say, " you communicate well and certainly you can work on your tonality."
           •Try – presupposes failure.
           •If – presupposes that you may not.
           •Might – it does nothing definite. It leaves options for your listener.
           •Would have- past tense that draws attention to things that didn’t act.
           •Should have- past tense that draws attention to things that didn’t act. It implies guilt.
          •Could have- past tense that draws attention to things that didn’t act. Person tries to take credit    as if it did happen.
         •Can’t/Don’t- These words force the listener to focus on exactly what don’t they want. This is a classic mistake that parents and coaches make.

         Every word contains the essence of a particular life experience or desired result. “Switchwords” are one word affirmations. Using them is like turning on an electric lamp with a switch. The desired result invariably appears. They can be used in a variety of creative ways to positively shape our reality. Declare, chant, affirm, sing, say them just once, or repeat them mantra style several times and watch how effortlessly reality is shaped by your intentions.

The essence of a switchword feels like a laser focusing our thought on the desired energy. These switchwords were discovered by James T. Mangan in 1963 (and exposed in his book, The Secret of Perfect Living) and have been proven in the lives of many people. They offer a real means to mastering our health and our happiness.
Here are a few examples of these main switchwords and their creative influence:
To find a lost item: OBTAIN.
To solve a problem: OBTAIN
To stay young: LEARN
To wipe out a negative thought: CANCEL
To dispel fear: BLUFF
To regain energy: MOVE
To improve interpersonal relationships: SWEET and WITH
To be healthy: BE
To beat the blues: UP
To stick to a resolution: DONE
To stop regrets: THANKS
The Master Switchword, the one which activates the whole of our mental machinery is the word TOGETHER.
To switch your request over to your subconscious, you now only need to use the Master word "TOGETHER" before the appropriate switchword. For example, the person who wishes to find a lost item may repeat several times: "Together-Obtain".
Use correct words and live a ever lasting happy life!

MIND-IT IS YOUR BUSINESS

Mind is the seat of internal perception.Mind is an object of knowledge. Just as you perceive an external object, similarly, you can observe your own mind.The mind is called “ internal instrument”. We have external instruments of cognition or perception:
the eyes,the ears, the nose,the organ of taste,the organ of touch.

Mind is the seat of internal perception.you can watch within to see if you like something or not.you can perceive your likes and dislikes, hopes and fears, joys and sorrows.And just as external perception is a criterion of existence, similarly this internal perception is also a criterion of existence.Just as a ball or a bat is real to you,so,also,your likes and dislikes,hopes and fears,your love and hatred, your joys and sorrows are real to you.

 Mind is only an appearance. It does not have any substance. It is like a crowd or traffic. Crowd is nothing but a group of people. Similarly traffic is nothing but group of vehicles. Without group of people or group of vehicle there is no crowd or traffic respectively. In the same way mind is nothing but flow of thoughts.
 Primary functions of the mind :
    - cognition (the process of obtaining knowledge through thoughts, experience and the senses).
    - emotion/feeling
    - volition(power of choosing freely & making one’s own decision)/willing.
There are other functions of the mind such as memory, imagination, love, hatred, hope, fear.
         Mind receives the light of consciousness and because of that, seems to have the power of feeling. Actually, it is  the self that feels through the mind.What we generally call “subconscious mind” is below the ego-consciousness.What we call “conscious mind” is within the range of the ego-consciousness.There is "super conscious” state which is beyond the range of ego-consciousness.“if you loose a little money , or a bit of time for the sake of another person, you regret it; but how much mental energy you are wasting every moment simply because you have not the power to fasten the mind to the particular object to which you want it to be fastened or because you can not detach the mind from what you want to detach it.You are losing energy constantly because of this.”

        Sunlight may appear to us through different mediums, and the manifestation of the light depends upon the nature of the medium.Similarly in one’s spiritual life, there is no development of the self-luminous, pure, immortal, ever free spirit.There is only mental development that reveals to the seeker a greater or lesser degree of the spiritual light.

       The greatest obstacles to the mind’s development are the impurities of the mind.These impurities do not actually inhere in the mind, but they adhere to the mind.No sin actually forms an intrinsic part of the mind.Just as dust may adhere to a crystal,similarly,mind has impurities or sins adhering to it.
        Patanjali says that there are 5 kinds of impurities:
         - ignorance
         - egoism(identification of the real self with the not-self)
         - attachment
         - aversion  &
         - infatuation (intense unreasonable passion).
From our common experiences we can see that the impurities that dwell in the human mind mostly are the gross emotions, generally called passion. Lust, greed, anger, jealousy, hatred:these are grossest impurities.They upset the mind at once.They distort our judgement,our vision is blurred.For the ailment of impurities in the mind the repeation of the sacred name or meditation has been found to be the best remedy.Reason has vision but can not act; emotion can act but has no vision. If reason rides on the shoulders of emotion, they can get along very well.
 Mind is the tool and if you use it effectively, you will be effective. Hence Mind it! It is your business.

SUCCESS

 What is Success? The quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson is appropriate here.

          To laugh often and love much;
          To earn the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
          To find the best in others;
          To give of oneself;
          To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a     redeemed social condition;
          To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation;
          To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived:
          This to have succeeded.

       To know whether you are successful or not you need to have a worthy goal & righteous means to achieve them. Achieving the goal should be for the common good of all.The simple and general understanding of success is to attain a set of goals or a desired result. .I would not define success only as achieving the desired result but as attaining lasting peace and happiness as a result of consistently following the path of virtue
       Every success need not be praiseworthy nor every failure censurable. Sometimes a failure is nobler than success.Both the goal and the means to achieve the goal are important factors in  evaluating success. The nobler the goal, the greater will be the strength one gains. I want to rob somebody and I do succeed in my attempt-is such a success praiseworthy? No, because the goal itself  is immoral. I pass an exam by copying, cheating, threatening or bribing. Such a success is not noble not because of the goal but because of improper means/path adopted to attain the goal.
       People are successful in their particular fields but they do not feel happy and fulfilled in their life. There may be health problems, wealth problems or relationship problems. Some are experts in handling certain problems but get shattered in facing others. True success means to be able to face all situations that arise. One who has fulfilled his life and has balanced all the areas of life situation viz. health, wealth, relationship & spirituality  and inspired many others alone can be called a truly successful person.

       4 factors of success:-
       1. Attitude.The most important factor of success is having a positive attitude towards life.
       2. Skill.The skill or knack of performing an action so that it will bear the desired fruit is called efficiency.
       3. Knowledge.Knowledge:
     - of the goal
     - of the means to attain the goal
     - of oneself
     - of our ability in reaching the goal. &

       4. Effort.We have to work even though we would love to succeed without work. There is only one place where success comes before work and that is in the dictionary! So work is a must for success.Following quote on effort is interesting:
               He worked by day and toiled by night.
               He gave up play and some delight.
               Dry books he read, new things to learn.
               And forged ahead , success to earn.
               He plodded on with faith and pluck.
               And when he won men called it luck.

       I wish you all a great Success & lasting happiness.

COURAGE

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.
- Dale Carnegie

What is Courage?
Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is doing the things you need to despite the fear. Even living is an act of courage,anyone can die. Courage is the willingness to accept criticism and to walk on the path people never have trodden.Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.Necessity does the work of courage.Courage is never to let your actions be influenced by your fears.

No doubt there exist real dangers in life you must avoid. But there's a huge difference between recklessness and courage. Courage is the ability to face down those imaginary fears and reclaim the far more powerful life that you've denied yourself. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of going broke. Fear of being alone. Fear of humiliation. Fear of public speaking. Fear of l dancing. Fear of regret. Fear of success.How many of these fears are holding you back? How would you live if you had no fear at all?If you have courage you will love what you do(please the picture above, it is supposed to be broken-glass walk but i preferred it be broken-glass dance). There will be a flow in what you do.

Courage is the ability to get yourself to take action in spite of fear.Courageous people are still afraid, but they don't let the fear paralyze them. Courageous people proactively go after their goals than reacting to their life out of fear.Real courage is a mental skill, not an emotional one.In other words, you use your intelligence, logic, and independent will to overcome the limitations/fear you've inherited as an emotional person.

Courage, however, doesn't require that you take drastic action in difficult/fearful situations. Courage is a learned mental skill that you must condition, just as weight training strengthens your muscles. You wouldn't go into a gym for the first time and try to lift 100 kilograms, so don't think that to be courageous you must tackle your most paralyzing fear right away.So tackle your smallest fears first, and progressively train up to bigger and bigger fears.The other approach to building courage is to acquire additional knowledge and skill within the domain of your fear.Just as your muscles will atrophy if you don't regularly stress them, your courage will atrophy if you don't consistently challenge yourself to face down your fears.If you aren't regularly exercising your courage, then you are strengthening your fear by default; there is no middle ground.

Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent.Courage is not something that can be handed over to you through lessons either.Courage is a way of life. It is as much a habit as anything else.

What is the difference between the achievers and non-achievers? Both have their fears; Both have their respective talents & weaknesses. Achievers have courage to act despite their fears and non-achievers succumb to their fears. What you do with your life is 100% up to you -whether to be courageous or fearful.The courage to stand up for what we believe in. The courage to follow public rules and laws and insist that other people follow them too. The courage to resist those who take easy ways out, which only leads to more corruption and red tape in our social systems.

Here the following quotes are worth mentioning:
1.Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear - Ambrose Redmoon.
2.Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear - Mark Twain.
3.Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen-Winston Churchill.
4.Courage is... the knowledge of how to fear what ought to be feared and how not to fear what ought not to be feared.  ~David Ben-Gurion
